Fibers can be divided into the following categories:

Animal fiber: silk, hair;

Man-made fibers (recycled): viscose, soy fiber, fiberglass, metal fiber;

Synthetic fiber: polyester, nylon, acrylic, vinylon, polypropylene, spandex, polyvinyl chloride.

Chemical fiber fabrics are new types of fabrics developed in modern times, with many types. Here mainly refers to pure spinning, blending or interlacing fabrics processed from chemical fibers, that is to say, fabrics woven from purified fibers, excluding blends and interwoven fabrics with natural fibers, and the characteristics of chemical fiber fabrics are woven into them. The properties of a chemical fiber fabric are determined by the properties of the chemical fiber itself woven into it.

Chemical fiber benefits: Low density, high strength, good stretchability, no mildew and insects, no odor, good air tightness, good wrinkle resistance, easy fiber processing, low cost, high yield and washing resistance.

The disadvantages of fiber: low yield, unstable chemical properties, short fiber, mildew and insects, easy to fade, poor wrinkle resistance, non-wear resistance, inconvenient processing and washing, odor.

Combustion is one of the commonly used methods for identifying fibers. It uses different fiber burning characteristics to identify fiber types. But only for pure textiles and interwoven products, not applicable to new blended products, core-spun yarn products and products that have been fire-retarded.
